Mekong Waterways

Three days on the complex maze of the Mekong Delta is hardly enough for some people, but this tour gives a taste of life on the mighty Mekong River and its' tributaries. You will be taken on a trip along the myriad of canals and tributaries to get more in depth view of life in the Delta. Gliding on the bustling waterways we enjoy the opportunity to interact with the local people at floating markets, eat tropical fruits in lush orchards, look into the art of Bonsai and have tea in a typical boathouse.

Pick up at your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City and transfer to Vinh Long. Arrive in Vinh Long, boarding Bassac at 12.00h. Welcome drink, introduction of the ship and crew, and check in the cabins. Departure towards Cho Lach on the Tien Giang river. Lunch on the upper deck. Rest on the deck, or enjoy the open bar. Swerve into Cho Lach canal for 30 minutes through the traffic of sand and rice barges, view local shipyards on the way.

Visit of a village on the bank of Co Chien or Mang Thit, an opportunity to appreciate the way of life of the local inhabitants, and their hospitality.

Back the boat, complimentary drink. Relax at the open bar and rest on the deck enjoying the sunset. The crew will serve dinner while the Bassac is cruising through Mang Thit river.

Set anchor in front of Phuoc Hau pagoda, in Tra On for overnight.

Morning at leisure. Board our Bassac cruise at Can Tho at Ninh Kieu pier. Welcome drink, introduction to the ship and crew, check into the cabins. Departure downstream of the Hau river. Lunch on board while en route. Tour near Tra On floating market. Branching into Mang Thit river towards Co Chien river.Rest on the upper deck or enjoy the open bar in a scenery of rice fields, sugar cane, woods on the near banks. Visit of a village on the banks of river Mang Thit, an opportunity to appreciate the way of life and hospitality of the local inhabitants. Visit of the orchard or rice fields nearby. Boarding back, complimentary drink as a welcome back on board. Open bar and rest on the deck enjoying the sunset. The crew will serve dinner while the Bassac is cruising Mang Thit river towards the anchorage point for the night. The Bassac sets anchor for the night on river Mang Thit.

06: 30 Bassac cruise sets sail again through the labyrinth of creek and canals towards Cai Be. The passengers take their breakfast while enjoying the scenery on the river banks.The Bassac crosses Co Chien river then branches into Cho Lach canal for 30 minutes through bobbling commotion of laden boats of sand and rice barges, in a scenery of fruit drying facilities and wooden ship building yards. Arrival in Cai Be, check-out and boarding of a local boat for a tour of Cai Be floating market and handicraft. Pick up at Caibe and drive back to Ho Chi Minh city. End of services.
